How Elon Musk responded to Bitcoin’s record-breaking high
Bitcoin has surpassed $65,000 (Rs. 48,651,770, after Bitcoin took another step toward mainstream status by becoming the largest cryptocurrency to be traded on Wall Street.
Tesla chief Elon Musk shared a meme to celebrate Bitcoin’s record-breaking surge on Twitter. The meme of the billionaire shows a couple lying in bed staring at a screen that shows Bitcoin at $69,000 (Rs. Rs. 51,659,0008.50) and Ethereum at $4,200 (Rs. 3,14,397.30
Bitcoin was traded at Rs 50.40.2223 around 8.25 AM (Indian time), with a dominance 46.49 percent. This was 1.16 percent less than the previous day.
Tesla announced in February that it had purchased $1.5 billion worth of Bitcoin and would accept it for payment for its cars.
In May, he announced that Tesla would not accept Bitcoin to purchase cars. He cited long-standing environmental concerns and a rapid reversal of Tesla’s position on cryptocurrency. His tweet caused Bitcoin to fall more than 10%
According to the billionaire, cryptocurrency holds a bright future but cannot come at a high cost to the environment.
